STUFF WE LIKE: GWR Pastelub 2400 Synthetic Brake Lubricant

What do railroad cars and brake pads have in common? Metal on metal contact. As a wheel from a railroad car travels on the on the rails, friction can slow them down and cause the wheels and tracks to wear. In Europe, the solution is to lubricate the wheels.

But, no ordinary lubricant will do. The lubricant needs to stick to and embed to the surfaces of the wheel. The solution was a lubricant made by a Swiss company that drastically reduced the wear rates of the wheels while reducing the amount left behind on the tracks.

The same technology is used by GWR’s Pastelub 2400. The synthetic moly-based brake lubricant is designed to lubricate surfaces like slides, shims and other components exposed to metal on metal contact. OEMs use this stuff. Also, Pastelub does not contain petroleum distilates that can damage rubber components.

If you try it once you will be impressed, it is worth every penny. Plus, you can brag to your customers that your brake lube comes from Switzerland!
