Ford Issues Safety Recalls On Select 2020 Mustangs

Ford is recalling 40,578 Mustangs across the U.S. and its federal territories, Canada, and Mexico due to brake pedal brackets that have a possibility of fracturing during a sudden stop. The driver could experience loss of braking capabilities during a sudden stop which could greatly increase the chance of an accident.

All affected models would have been manufactured at the Flat Rock Assembly Plant from March 4, 2019 to August 13, 2020.

Ford customer service can be contacted by calling 1-866-436-7332. The Ford reference number related to this case is 20S52.

Dealers will replace all brake pedal brackets assemblies on the select models free of charge. Ford has stated that they are not aware of any reports of accident or injury related to this condition.

Ford will begin notifying owners of the issue on November 15.
