This is another crash due to brake failure and probably poor maintenance.
Crash Occurred In 2500 Block Of Sawgrass Street in Rancho San Diego
Three people were injured after a minivan crashed into the garage of a home in Rancho San Diego on Sunday. California Highway Patrol Officer Adam Griffith told 10News the minivan was traveling north on Steele Canyon Road when it crashed through the intersection.
The minivan’s driver and witnesses told the CHP that the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed before it slammed into the garage. Witnesses said the minivan appeared to be out of control. Witnesses also told the CHP that the vehicle’s rear brakes appeared to be on fire.
Battalion Chief Mike Stein, said access to the minivan was difficult because the garage was filled with storage items.
