Bus Crash Kills 4 Injures 23 Due To Brake Failure

Four people perished in a minibus crash that occurred last night in Namibia at around 12:30 PM after it experienced brake failure and collided with an oncoming vehicle.

The deceased are said to be made up of two women, one man and a baby, while 23 others sustained slight to moderate injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The accident adds to the total crashes so far this year to 916, in which 1,663 people were injured and over 160 killed.

“This month alone we have already lost 21 lives. This is of great concern to the Fund as the country continues losing lives due to road crashes most of which could have been prevented,” says Chief Executive Officer of the Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) Fund, Rosalia Martins-Hausiku.
