Brake Failure Results In DWI Arrest – Of Crash Victim

A recent crash in Santa Fe, NM resulted in two citations from police officers: one ticket to the driver of an RV for failed brakes and one arrest on suspicion of drunken driving. 
According to the Santa Fe New Mexican, the driver of a recreational vehicle told police that his brakes failed, causing him to run a red light and collide with a white Jeep Cherokee. The woman driving the Jeep Cherokee had no injuries according to police, but was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated. 
The driver of the RV suffered a fractured leg and minor cuts to his face – he was charged with a vehicle safety violation.
